This service involves in-situ rotor balancing, and deals with the correction of residual imbalance of fan rotors, and similar impellers. This is of peculiar significance for rotating equipments, especially where high speed and reliability are of extreme importance, considering that unbalance is the most common source of vibration in machines with rotating parts.
Application areas
This solution is suitable for handling mechanical imbalance in rotating equipment, such as static unbalancing, couple or torque imbalance, and Dynamic imbalance. The technique is used in rotors, fans, impellers, or shafts, as well as in machines with pre-installed plates. Unbalance in a rotor is the result of an uneven distribution of mass, which cause the rotor to vibrate.
What we do
- We agree with the customer, and proceed with balancing the machines, and measuring the imbalance using electronic equipment.
- We use the influence coefficient method to establish a relationship between the residual imbalance of the impellar and the vibration in the designated supports of the machine. The imbalance measured can then be corrected by manipulating weights from the rotating parts until the vibration is reduced as desired.
Benefits
- Avoid fatigue failure in structures and elements associated with rotating equipment.
- Increase the service life of the rotating system and the machine
- Prevent excessive bearing loads due to overloads
- Energy savings for the customer
