This solution is optimised for ensuring that the precision-align rotating shafts present in machinery are aligned correctly, in order to prevent unplanned downtime, and reduce the cost associated with repair and replacement, as well as unnecessary halts in production. It involves the measurement of shaft alignment for condition monitoring as predictive maintenance, and efficiently aligning axes of a machine with quality and precision.
Application areas
The service is applicable to most rotating machines, as it has been established that up to 50% of breakdowns in rotating machines are directly related to inaccurate alignment.
Laser alignment systems offer a resolution of 0.001mm and also allow a fast, accurate and reliable measurement with optimally documented results.
It is suitable for normal shaft- shaft/coupled units, gear box/pump – motor, drive trains, drive shafts/line shafts, offset drives etc and addresses problems such as overloads and vibrations, bearing wear and failure – due to excessive torque, wear and failure of seals, excessive power consumption which can increase by as much as 20% on misaligned units, metal fatigue on shafts and journals, due to misalignment
What we do
- When the measurements have been taken, we set up a bi directional data transfer and Wireless communication for a safe, comfortable and flexible handling.
- The measurement data are then prepared, including machine and coupling properties as well as alignment structures for the measurment files based on machine identfication, and it’s location.
- The alignment has a custom report format, and it’s catalog of faults that can be detected during an alignment measurement routine.
- Measurement reports are made in a profesional and user specific form, including company colors and logo, and with the possibility to integrate photos into digital format.
- The correction of alignment can be observed in real time on a screen, and measurement reports can be generated directly on the equipment according to ISO 9001 documentation requirements
Benefits
- With this solution, the customer stands to benefit from reduced vibration alarms, reduced repair incidences, reduced energy cost, increased seal life, and improved pump reliability.
- Prevention of catastrophic failures, allowing for better maintenance planning.
- Greater machine power, higher operating speed, and higher productivity.
- Avoidance of consequential damage to equipment leading to reduced maintenance and spare parts cost, as well as reduced spare parts inventory requirements.
- Extended Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) , resulting in avoidance of downtime, and reduced production loss.
- Lower labor cost, and greater manpower reserves.
